Trifle, Cherry Pie and a Pumpkin Pie for the American in the family
wink.png

I am really disappointed with the Cherry Pie; I underestimated the amount of pastry I would need and did not have enough left over to do the over/under lattice and the lattice is too thin. Oh well, hopefully it will taste good.

Merry Christmas, everyone!! This is the best Christmas EVAH!! Granddaughter Little Diane and Dustin made this video - just a silly combination of the trip and my reaction to seeing them, followed by the surprise on Evan and Tammy. I got them over here on a pretext and then Diane and Dustin came down the hall. Priceless! Her Aunt Tammy has adored her since Little Diane drew her first breath, and it shows! Hope you enjoy this.....Oh, by the way, when they were sneaking up to the house Dustin had his hand over the camera so the light wouldn't tip me off. And oh, by the way, there are a lot of "Oh My Gods" so I hope you aren't offended by that...wasn't taking the Good Lord's name in vain - more like shock and awe at His gift of a safe trip and joyous surprise! Oh, and another BTW - those silly kids put on fuzzy onesies and wore them from the time they crossed the Wyoming border until they hit the Montana border! Silly kids! This what what she posted on Facebook when she posted the video. "So, for anyone that doesn't know, we packed up at five am last night to drive out 12 hours to Cowley Wyoming to surprise my grandparents for Christmas!!

When I moved back at seventeen, we got to spend our first Christmas together in ten years, and it was so so special to my gramma and grampa (': Well, now it had been another four years since we'd seen each other for Christmas. And Dustin and I decided that had been far too long. We took pictures and videos the whole way here, and then recorded their reactions at the very end

Thank You .. I hope they are.

It's a shame we can't do a taste test like you would with a cooking meal, add stuff, spice it up etc. With dessert the judging is in the eating and the subsequent yum or yuk. That, or present it on the Christmas table with a slice already missing

lol. I could blame one of the cats

I always lick the beaters or the spatula when I'm done with them. You can kinda gage the overall flavor of certain pies. Not so much apple pie, though. I found out the secret to a really good cherry pie was a little almond extract.
