OHLD, good to see you here again!

WY kind of chose us...DH was offered a job here (and a summer job for me). Plus I have family somewhat close by (1 hour and 2.5 hours away). My parents used to bring us kids out this way almost every summer when we were kids so some of it is very familiar...but these winters! Oh my. Definitely a big change from Florida, lol.

What have you been up to lady?

P.S. There is cheese here too if you can make it to the grocery store!

Glad to hear I'm welcomed back. Last year my leg pains that I have had since chemo became too much. I mostly shut down both physically and mentally. I was able to find out that I needed my knees replaced. I had the left done in October. They found dead bone from the chemo. They did a total replacement. I am recovering quite well and that horrible pain is gone, and I am much happier now.

That is quite a climate change. I don't know how you are getting used to it. I dream of sitting on the beach this time of year.

Wisconsin cheese is the best cheese, we got to the cheese factory for cheese.

Whoa, that's some major surgery. I'm very glad that your recovery is going well and the pain is gone. That would make anyone happier, to not hurt so bad any more.

Some day I might make it to Wisconsin, I've never been. But it probably won't be in the winter, lol!

Good morning all.

I live in the Banana Belt of Minnesota so I have a balmy 19 below today. But at those temps my coconuts might be slightly touched.

  What is your temp out there. on the "surviving Minnesota" thread BC is the current winner at 26 below.


At those temps it is too cold to shave,  let alone take a bath or shower.  I am starting to "ripen" I need spring so I can shower and put on a new pair of long johns.

Other than that I wish you all a warm day!    And anyone wanting to stop by and do my chores , please feel free too.

I think we had a balmy -8 this morning. There wasn't much wind and it got to 7 above. I left the coop door open today and the girls were basking in the sun. We put a new bale of straw in the coop today for the girls to try and help with the cold on their feet....supposed to be -18 tomorrow morning. My sister lives in Motley and she had -31 and her boss who is 20 miles from her had -40...brrr!! I hope your ripeness doesn't reach this neck of the woods

Sheesh, I thought I was getting lucky marrying a guy younger than me...turns out, he's falling apart faster than I am!

5:30 am here and I've been wide wake since 4. <sigh> I don't know why I do this....no reason at all to get up this early, can't really do anything because Ken's still asleep, I had a hard time training myself to wake up at 4 when I was keeping Katie and Kendra from 5 am on, now can't seem to "untrain". Oh, well.
