Holidays, bah humbug!

DH finally told me what he'd really like to have for Christmas. No stores around here with that item. Amazon has it but won't mail to my PO. And we can't get postal deliveries to the house.

I finished the bunny condo and started painting the inside of the goat shed today. Nice sunny day, if a bit cool. Hubby was wondering why i am painting. Well for one thing, it is a chipped board type of stuff. Tempting to nibble. Plus it just looks way better and seals the wood.

Both goats and rabbits will chew up wood so painting won't stop that. I don't paint because I'd prefer they didn't eat my paint too.

Will they ship it to the golf course? Or have it shipped to someone else where you can pick it up.

And hmm, yeah I find the la mancha ears so weird I'm not sure i could do it but if they are otherwise a good breed then i might be willing to try it.

Maybe you could get some prosthetic ears for them

I would use blackjack on all of it. Chip board is .... well I call it shitboard and won't use it for anything. If the goats chip up or wear down the paint, moisture will seep in and be trapped by the paint. It will rot from the inside.

I put the wire on the inside of the cages so most of the wood is not able to be nibbled. The goats do nibble a bit but i try to be sure they have branches to chew. I am kind of compulsive about painting things. It is hard for me to not buy paint when i find it cheap. Most man-made items just look better painted.

I used to paint stuff outside too. I did it for decades, now I can't do it anymore. I think I have painting PTSD, hours and hours of painting, up and down, up and down....

Then, of course, there's the goat-in-season yelling. Some of ours just sort of grumble and whine a bit, others really scream. Our goats can see the back door to the house, and usually at least nicker when someone comes out. Our first doe was a screamer; my husband would step out on the back porch, then stick his head back in the door and say, "someone's murdering Esme again."

How did I totally forget about that? I haven't had any females in almost 2 years. They would scream like they were being murdered. I could always tell who was in heat. It's one reason I went all boys.

I guess I'll stick with males haha my cat used to be HORRIBLE in heat

Goats sound like lots of fun but, think I'll wait for the movie!

I just cannot get used to goats without ears. It simply looks weird.

Fun indeed. 'Back in the day' evil sister had two goats. I turned them loose during a family picnic. Within minutes they were on the picnic tables eating everything and pooping all over the place. Great fun !

They are, either you love them or hate them. I hear plenty of kids get traumatized by goats at the petting zoos.
