The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I am exhausted and starving. Not only did I do all that cleaning but now I've been cooking for like the past hour and a half, 2 hours. My mom made the turkey but I made the green bean casserole, mac & cheese, and au gratin potatoes. Granted the mac and au gratin are boxed (hungry jack au gratin and Kraft mac & cheese) but still. Takes time to make everything and standing the whole time in front of the stove is the most tiring part. I never stand that long. Thankfully dinner is finally about ready. Although now my brother just said he's not gonna eat cause his throat hurts :barnie not his fault and he doesn't know I was cooking all this time cause he just got home (he was working out) but it's just I made a lot (double box of mac, only one small box of potatoes but still, big gb casserole), but oh well. I am sure he will at least sit at the table. Maybe eat a few bites. I'm not gonna force him to eat if he's sick.

I might have a tough time getting productive tomorrow. Supposed to be 7° overnight, difficult to think I want to go outside. There isn't any great hurry to get down to the animals since they have plenty of food and water and won't come out of the barn anyway.

BUT ... I need to drive 25 miles south to Burlington for 10 AM to rent a pickup at UHaul then come back home to load the splitter to be returned 50 miles south. It might be 20° at 10. Going to have to pull the splitter out of the little barn and up to the parking area with the garden tractor, then rig some chain so I can lift it with the real tractor into the bed of the truck. Sure hope that thing has tie down locations on it somewhere.

This would be substantially more fun if the day started at 35°.

That sounds miserable!! Good luck getting motivated! Lol

Screw the panels to 2x4s and put it on top.

Good idea, thanks. Don't they have to be slanted so the snow slides off though?

DW has it worse, she leaves for work before 7 when it MIGHT be 8°. We are usually several degrees colder than what Mr. NOAA says.

OMG that sounds awful!

Anyone check to make sure he doesn't have something nasty like strep throat?

My mom suggested he get tested for it today. His response? "I don't have strep throat."
