The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

:thOuch!!! :hugs:hugs poor girl, like life's not hard enough...give her a hug from me.
On the other side, sounds like y'all are having a wonderful time. Thanks for the road trip update.

Hug will be delivered later tonight! She’s tough! Ken and I haven’t been doing any of that stuff. All of those outings were Jen and the girls’ adventures with Jenny’s mom, sisters, and cousins. We did pick up Jenny, Katie and Kendra for the annual barbecue here, but other than that we haven’t even seen them since we dropped them off at the Center. We’re here staying with my sister Lori, going to the hospital to see our sister Bev, who went home today, out for a little shopping, and just visiting. We went to see Little Diane - that was interesting - and got our schedule for South Dakota’s Grand Lodge firmed up. Other than that just sitting on the deck reminiscing, laughing, having an occasional beer, and watching the planes go by.

ow sorry about Kendra
.

Me too. <sigh>

Poor Kendra! I recognized that eye under the cut right away so I knew it wasn't you.
Glad she didn't have to hit the ER for it. Maybe you can skip that "trip highlight" this time around.

So, have you found anything to eat? :lau

Really weird that your high school is now a cultural, arts, science center. I bet it doesn't look much like it did when you last walked out.

Not a bit on the inside, Bruce, but the outside is still that glorious dark pink stone that I remember so well. Lots of homes and public offices built with that back in the day, and I have always loved the way they look!

Ain’t Ken and me doing all that eating! We did the family barbecue on Saturday night but the rest of the time it’s just whatever Lori and I fix for supper. Jenny never met a pastry or sugary treat she didn’t love! Her whole family is that way so that’s what they’re doing....finding sweets and devouring them. I’m waiting for the world wide sugar shortage to hit!

Her skin looks yellow in that picture. Hope she is ok.

She’s okay, Cap, I promise! Probably just the reflection from her bright yellow shirt when Jen snapped the photo. Right after she got treated at the infirmary there at Westport she put away 3 bowls of chocolate cereal.

Happy birthday, Micro!!!

And Debby, get better fast. I warned you all to be good with no getting sick or hurt. Bruce was supposed to be in charge. Sheesh!

Just a quick check-in. Jen and the girls are staying at the Westport in an apartment just down from her mom’s so they are having s blast doing their thing. Zoo, eating, shopping, eating, exploring the revitalized downtown area, eating, our annual family barbecue and more eating, Washington Pavilion (which once was the Washington High School that I attended), eating....oh, and I think they’ve hit every ice cream parlor, bakery, and sweet shop in the city.

And we can’t forget one visit to the staff nurse for Kendra, which almost turned into our annual “Sioux Falls Trip to the ER.” I’ve done it twice, Ken twice, and Kendra the time we brought her back for Little Diane’s wedding. <sigh> She had a seizure this morning while standing at the kitchen counter at the Westport and nailed her eye but good! Jen FaceTimed me to show me and I suggested she ask the nurse on duty if Kendra should go in. Nurse put Steri-strips on it and said Kendra would have a brilliant shiner by later today, but the jury is out as to whether she’ll keep them on. Jen’s family scheduled formal family portraits of Jen’s mom with all 6 of her grandkids for tomorrow. Oops.

Good to hear from you B! Sounds like most everyone is having a good time in their own way :D
Poor Kendra, that had to hurt! I vote for going ahead and getting the family portrait taken anyway...you can't wait for everything to be perfect or those photos would never be taken.
