The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

And I’m with Bruce on the not taking being sick over sleep thing. I’m used to no sleep so that’s no problem but I’m a huge baby and low pain tolerance so being sick is awwwwwwfuuuuuullll for me haha

I can barely even stand these damn migraines. Which btw it came back a few hours ago. :barnie

So I think I’m noticing somewhat of a new pattern: really bad in the morning, then goes away after being up a couple hours (or maybe not fully goes away but enough that I don’t notice it anymore and don’t need to take anything) then apparently comes back at night. Usually I get them in the afternoon so this is a little weird.

If it doesn’t go away by tomorrow I think I’m going to need to go to the doctor. It’s probably nothing but this is getting really old ha

I know how it started though: all day in the sun and heat at the fair Thursday so got it Thursday evening/night. But then it just... hasn’t gone away. But Thursday night I also didn’t really sleep like at all cause of it so maybe that’s why? But still. And then of course today. So I guess it all has legit causes? Like today I didn’t really eat or drink much which is probably why it came back but it’s still weird.

I do wonder though.... can caffeine withdrawals cause them? Or even if so, would they be this severe? And also would I even have withdrawals after only been drinking the caffeine daily for like a week, week and a half? Doesn’t seem like a long enough time? But besides the lack of sleep and bad self care/hydration, it’s the only thing I can think of cause I didn’t have any yesterday or today whereas normally I’ve been making myself that ginger peach day daily as well as having some iced tea too usually. But can you even get addicted that fast??

Coming off caffeine used to treat headaches can absolutely result in “rebound headaches.” And caffeine can also cause fluctuations in blood pressure......up, then down, then back up - not enough to cause a life threatening result of blood pressure. But we’ve learned over the past 7+ years that even small fluctuations in BP are magnified in the enclosed space of the skull, in the blood vessels surrounding the brain. It’s why, if Kendra’s BP goes up or there’s a slight increase in her Cerebral Spinal fluid, the pressure pushing on her brain tissue, or pulsing through all of those vessels, will give her a doozy every time.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I wonder if that’s what’s causing them to be so bad and frequent then.. I don’t know whether I should drink some caffeine (not now obviously but next time) or just try to wait it out? Cause the caffeine was kind of hurting my stomach too so I stopped. But it’s a toss up because would I rather have these migraines or a little stomach irritation. I think I’d rather deal with the stomach. :barnie

Also that blood pressure thing is interesting too because when I was drinking the caffeine I noticed sometimes I would get a little light headed after standing up or sprinting a bit and wondered if maybe it was the caffeine. I have sometimes gotten lightheaded before but even just Wednesday I ran a bit playing with one of the dogs and had to sit down cause I was so lightheaded/off. Never had that happen before. Course it was also hot and humid but still. Wonder if that’s that BP thing.

Too much caffeine can trigger them, are you well hydrated? If not that can make it worse. Pressure changes, storms, stress.

You mentioned pressure, do you have allergies? An antihistamine and ibuprofen could help in that instance.

Oddly the caffeine seemed to help and I didn’t get them when I had a glass in the morning but then now I have been having them and coincidentally it’s also when I haven’t had any caffeine in a couple days but idk. Though I did have some caffeine Thursday.

And idk if I am or not. I try to drink a lot of water but tend to forget and not drink any for hours at a time.

We haven’t had any storms lately I don’t think though it did rain some yesterday.

Definitely a lot of stress but that’s normal. I wonder if it could be related to my jaw too. I notice sometimes I tend to clench it and I think I possibly have TMJ or something going on with the alignment. I also do this weird neck cracking/stretching thing so I really want to get my jaw and neck checked.

I don’t think I have any allergies but I really don’t know. Maybe??

I have had more dairy lately so that could be part of it? That usually stuffs me up/clogs my sinuses.

I might try an antihistamine. Tried regular Advil tonight but it didn’t work. Lately it seems only Excedrin does.

Edited cause that first paragraph didn’t really make sense/wasn’t clear. Sorry.

Woo, THAT was a shock. I almost forgot I am Nancy. Thank you for using it. Feeling okay now. Going to the zoo later in the morning. Hope on the way back home I can get to a grocery store and refill the freezer with ice cream.Come to think of it, the other day I was totally out of ice cream - no wonder I wasn't feeling well.:yesss:

Thank you, I will try spraying them. What does work?
dawn dish detergent , mixed eight tsps per gallon of water in a one gallon sprayer and spray them, also like cap said, under the leaves too, will take a few minutes for them to die but it works according to video on youtube, if you have them killing the vines, they will try to get away by climving to the top or flying away, wet them good and they die plus the spray isn't harmful to us
