Thank you so much to everyone who helped out with my pecking dilemma but now I have another question for yall, what is the best food for my (2) ducklings. And any thoughts on developer/finishing/layer food as they are females. Just want to make sure they are getting the best care possible. Once again thanks!

I don't have ducks, but I know that All-flock is a feed that is good to feed mixed flocks.. You can feed chickens, ducks, pheasants, quail, and coyotes with one feed. Makes it simpler to handle the whole crowd.. I use all-flock for my chickens. I do provide additional calcium in the form of oyster shells on the side free choice.. I just threw in the coyotes

Up to about 2 to 3 weeks of age, a good starter crumble - if chick starter, add a tablespoon of brewer's yeast (not baking yeast, but the nutritional supplement) per cup of food.

Start slowly switching over to a grower pellet at around 3 weeks - keep up with the brewer's yeast for another six weeks or so.

Then a month before they start to lay (my Runners started playing hop on top at around this time), set out some free choice oyster shell. When they start to lay, switch them over to a layer ration.

The Stickies have a Raising Ducklings thread - very good read, especially the first post.
