I missed out on a shot at an established flock of Welsummers yesterday. So now I'm debating getting some hatching eggs.

I used to want Welsummers - I love the colors of the roosters and the speckled brown eggs from the hens. Now I really like smaller combed birds and want some AMs and OEs
But I do love those speckled dark eggs, so who knows if a couple will end up in my flock some day.
I understand the smaller combs. I've got a hatchery welsummer rooster right now, and I Woody about the comb sometimes in the cold weather. But I really like both Welsummers and barnevelders.
So....Seeing I got some money for Christmas. .......I went and bought more AC eggs from Pyxis! !! She is such a bad influence on me.. .
So......hopefully I will get more!!!!!
I know. So many breeds, so many decisions to make. For those with the time and space, I say go for it!
I'm always going to have a small flock, so I can't let my self get hooked on too many breeds. One or two good quality purebred trios or quads, and some random layers for a colorful egg basket is what works best for me right now.
Awesome, Ross!!! SO excited for you.
