I like the black, but do not have a breeders eye. He looks alot like my SIL bird when she lived out here. But didn't do a very good job protecting them and they all got picked off by a racoon. He was a handsome bird though.

Dan, no I do not know a lot about citrus trees. We have one lemon tree at the house. I read up on them, and decided it wasn't something that I wanted to pursue.

I'm learning what to look for, and as far as a breeder, my black rooster is by far the best bird. The splash has a high tail set, and the color is not yet an APA accepted color, but he is a striking bird to see in person. People that aren't worried about showing are fawning over the splash
