Mornin! Pond over here is perfect today. If only it would stay this temp. Gonna finish cleaning out the RV as I got a new camper this weekend! Yay! Also, started looking at adding to my flock.... Tough decisions.

Thunderstorms here. That is OK though, nothing sever hit us and rain is always welcome. We did have to get prepared for a tornado, but it never touched ground, just rotation.

We had a small one touch down near us about a year ago. Managed to hit an Empty field nearby. Should've heard the kids. they made it sound like a cat 5!

I have only ever seen a tiny one myself. We have had big ones come through, but most of them when I was still a kid and my dad, a spotter and first responder, has made me to paranoid to ever try to chase one (I am not saying it's a bad thing). I have seem the damage they leave though

LOL at hatch their feet - have a Welsummer on the same mission right now. I hadn't said anything to DH so he got quite a surprise when he took his buddy out there to look over the coop and meet the birds the other day. They were going along looking at the nest boxes (buddy is considering chickens - he buys eggs from us now and is planning for when we leave) and came to her box and she let out a shriek and puffed up, he'd never seen a broody hen before and was fairly well convinced there was something "seriously wrong" with my chicken.

Little Momma moved into the chicken coop with OG and his mother. She was on the deck and thought she saw a bug, so she "flew" down. I guess she forgot she weighs 30 pounds and broke or molted her wing feathers. It sounded like someone dropped a bowling ball. And then she couldn't find what she went after, so she went after a chicken. That was funny. I don't think that neck wound bothers her much.

It wasn't much of a chase for the chicken, she just flew back up on the deck (about 30"). That poor fat turkey had to waddle all the way around to the ramp on the other side to get back up, and by the time she got there, the hen was in the crowd of 120+ and so she just sat down to catch some sun.

- poor Little Momma --- I am envisioning something like the cartoons where someone goes out into thin air, hangs there for a minute and then realizes what they've done and DROPS! Glad she only seriously injured her pride.

Storms here AGAIN last night too -- thankfully just thunder and rain. I am NOT a fan of tornadoes at all - especially when they come with the storms at night. Glad you were safe.
