French frogs - Page 3967

Hello frawgs!  Hope everyone has had a great day/weekend.  Happy Father's Day to all you dads.

This weather is crazy.  I can't remember ever being this hot in June.

I didn't catch up on everything I missed.  Dan, I did read about your turkey.  Sorry for your loss.

How's everyone?  I don't think I've seen Bert around.  Been thinking about ya'll and hoping all is well.

Love my family...8 ducks, 4 cats, 2 dogs, a boyfriend, grown-up son & BYC lamps!

That's about what I thought you'd say. They are BBB's, I figured it had something to do with the breed or genetics.

The stress of growing those out of proportion bodies with high metabolism rates in hot weather can be too much for them.  Do you restrict feed or free range them?  If left to their own appetite they can eat themselves to death in as little as 8 weeks.

Since they are not good at scratching out holes in the dirt, if you give them dirt in the shade, ideally under a tree or under a double roof (one to block the sun, one a couple feet lower to provide real shelter) and whatever breeze is available, lots of water, and no excitement, they should handle those hot days.  My two big gals just sit with their wings out and pant.  I just make sure that the kids are outside with all their ruckus so these two can just relax and take it easy.

So it would seem. They get a scoop in the morning and a scoop in the evening I dot know if you'd call that restricted or not but they almost always have feed left in their feeder (It's a small chick feeder) They do have a 6'x4' tractor though. Hmm

Drop in temps.....if only it would've lasted! it's only June....if it stays in 90s and 100s it's gonna be so miserable! Especially for my birds.
So, my little busy body, what do you have going on this week?

I am going to have to out my rancher cap on on top of my mamma cap this week. Dh and FIL are going fishing, so it will be me who takes care of the cattle this week. It won't be to bad, as long as everyone behaves. If they get naughty, I am doomed.

Let's hope for cooperative cattle this week!

I took Little Bit to school this morning. Went well, most stressful part was figuring out how to drive my daughter's fancy car. Too many buttons. I need to go out later and see if I can put the third row of seats down, since the headrests block the back window. Maybe I'll google it later.

Have a good day!

Hi MissAm. DH is home and taking care of things. He's been picking up some work so I'm up here in CO babysitting by myself.

Yes I can run water and bottle feed a calf easily enough. If the cattle decide they want to wander, I will be in a real pickle it is hard to herd anything with two princesses tagging along.
