Fowl Pox

No, I only have 4 girls. I had one die suddenly about 2.5 weeks ago, she didn't have any black spots she just suddenly went into respiratory distress. I am just more concerned about any abnormalities that I see now.

I totally understand. Chickens sometimes die for no apparent reason over night. It's not uncommon for them to go that way. Are you in a colder climate where your hen could get slight frostbite? Otherwise I would assume the marks are slight abrasions or from slight pecking from other hens.

I live in NJ and we have had some cold nights recently. And she does have a rather floppy comb compared to some of my other girlsand the marks are only on the one side of her comb that is more exposed so frost bight or abrasions might make sense. If it is frostbite is there anything I need to do, or just let it heal on its own?
