Hi all,

Recently acquired 4 Red Star Rangers pullets for a starter flock and thought I'd come introduce myself to you lovely people rather than lurking in the background reading all your posts.

We've had our girls for 2 and a half days yet so haven't named them until we can tell them apart a bit better. One of them laid her first egg yesterday and we couldn't be prouder!

Glad you could join the flock! Those are lovely ladies you have there and are great egg laying machines. I have one of those in my flock, she is called Brenda and such a lovely lady. Where in UK are you? I'm up in Yorkshire. Drop by the UK there could be other keepers close to you. The link is in my signature.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Congratulations! It's always so egg-citing getting that first egg. Red Star is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links and they are laying machines. You should get loads more large brown eggs from those four girls. :eek:) If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. Congratulations on getting an egg already! We have 3 red sex links in our mixed flock and they are super layers, plus full of personality. Glad you are enjoying them!
