Hello all! Happy to have found this community! BBG stands for Bees Bunnies and Goats which are the members of our farm in the order we acquired them. The chickens came later! We started with honey bees, but after losing all three hives in the winter of 2013 (the worst winter in a 100 years in Northern Ohio), we decided to move up to something that was harder to kill. We also switched to Russian bees which are mite resistant and more winter hardy than Italians. We raise American Blue heritage breed bunnies and pure bred Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Our herd is small - 2 bucks, 3 mature does and 5 of the cutest kids you ever saw!! Add in the 2 dogs (Blue Tick coonhound and a border collie) and 6 cats, along with our 6 (soon to be 5) chickens and that's who we are! If anyone has questions about goats or honey bees, we're happy to help!

Hi and welcome to our flock! Sounds like you have a lot going on. I hope that chickens ARE harder to kill than bees!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! That's a lot of things you have going on there! I love goats but just don't have the room right now but they are on my wish list for the future.
I'm sure if you type bee keeping in the search box above there are threads on it.

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

Sorry for the loss of the Bee's. They are amazing little creatures. I purchase fresh local honey at our farmers markets - absolutely delicious
