I have a Bobwhite quail who is 7 weeks old.  I hatched her with my sixth graders in an incubator and she is currently living in a cage inside of my home.  When she begins to lay eggs, will she need to build a nest for herself?  If so, what should I put in her cage for her to build it with?  Are quail equipped to live indoors and be happy?  I am mixing her current chick feed with finch seed, is that a good idea?  She seems to be very happy.  She talks to everyone in the house, plays with the toys in her cage, and sings to us all the time.  We have all fallen in love with this little bobwhite.  I just want to make sure she is happy and healthy.  I can't seem to find much about raising quail in this manner so I just wanted to make sure I am doing what is best for her.
