I am trying my hand at a worm farm with mixed results. I have to admit I hadn't thought of eating them myself. Let me know how you like them.

I'm definitely not going to be trying them myself! Someone else can be the mealworm guinea pig, thank you very much.

I raise meal worms and superworms, all turtles and birds love them, I will stick to other means of protein for myself. Heard they were good. key word "Heard" Not a personal experience. you know you can hear a lot of things though.

I've tried chicken and meat bird feed before. Not that bad in all honesty. Whenever I get mealworms for my birds or other students I might try one and let you know.

This is funny, we have been having a discussion on Zaz's FB page about trying different animal feeds. As unlikely as it seems, most of us have at some time or another tried some type of animal feed.

mine are actually soldier flys which i learned from my peafowl friends, i just dump either rice bran , crimped barley or oats in a ben wet them down real good, cover with the bag the grain came in and wait two to three weeks and i have meal worms till all the grain is gone, i feed them every day for like a month and they love them

Rings? Can't say I do. My meal worm farm has weevils in it, and mature meal bugs. (soldier fly?)

I guess I need to sterilize the groats before I restart them up again.
