Another Roo or Hen Question (with pictures)

Aloha,

I purchased 3 RIR pullets when they were about 4 weeks old. The person I bought them from did the best she could to try to sex them, but there is a definite difference between them. Two are much larger and have bigger combs and wattles.

I have checked out numerous other threads on this site on the subject, but I just can't find a definite answer.

I have not heard any crowing, but on the other hand there are loose chickens all over the place here, so it may be hard to tell. I've been listening, and I haven't heard mine crow yet. I also don't see any spurs.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

Mahalo,

Randy

Sorry but you do have two roosters and one hen.  See those long, curving, green tail feathers?  That's in addition to the red, larger comb/wattles, also they are developing the long, stringy hackle feathers on the neck and saddle feathers in front of the tail.  Will the person you bought them from exchange them for hens perhaps?

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
