2 of 3 chickens killed by dog. Got remaining chicken a friend-not getting along

Hi all, Ive learned a lot from this site but this is my first post. I hope you can help

I'm a first tine chicken owner, I've had them about a year and a half now. 3 golden sexlinks. Last weekend they were attacked by a neigbhoord dog that got loose. Only one was not injured. Since I know they are flock birds, I went and found a "friend" for her and added the hen to the coup.

They are not getting along at all. They are the same breed and close in age but my existing hen wont let the new one eat or anything. She jumps on her when I throw her tomatoes or food. It's kind of sad :(

THe new hen also doesnt seem to know how to use my coup. She doesnt understand the ladder and at night she perches on the roof. I take her off the roof and put her on the roost inside. Is it possible she just likes being outside on the roof?

She is very averse to me holding her or even getting close, while my other hen that i raised from a chick will come straight to me. Will this new one ever trust me?

Just give the situation time.  The new one may never be as friendly as your old one, but she will eventually warm up to you if you keep feeding her.  Hand-feeding birds goes a long way towards winning them over.  The new bird will also learn the ropes of the new coop.

I am sorry for your losses.  Good luck with the new dynamic.
