I adopted a "hen" that had severely crippled feet and was being attacked by other chickens and was in poor health bc it couldnt get food/water. So I took it and have had it about a month and it started crowing as it grew larger. It literally falls over trying to walk, but can somewhat especially now that it is healthier and has put on weight. BUT, now he crows, so its not a hen. But in the last week it has been biting when we reach near him. We had been petting and hand feeding him but he draws blood and holds on and twists, hes oober agressive. What on earth is up with him.

He is maturing, and the testosterone is going to his head. Some roosters just become aggressive as they mature. Do not let him bite you, and when he tries subordinate him by placing one hand on his neck and the other on his back and forcing him firmly to the ground. This type of behavior tends to escalate.
