Egg color?

My maran just laid her first egg and it wasn't exactly what I expected. I know their egg colors can vary, but I'm curious if there's any chance yet her eggs will get darker or if they'll stay this light.sad.png
These are what we hatched her from.

This is what she's laid.

Well I wouldn't panic yet, the first month or so of laying is about revving up the system and getting everything synchronized, a lot of dark egg laying hens will be erratic in the laying down of the color and it will change and occasionally get lighter or speckled, give her time, but boy those are some really dark eggs. They always lay the darkest eggs in the first few months than they usually start to lighten up.
