Where can I get some feed for pigeons that are good and safe for pigeons at local feed or hardware stores? (I live in Memphis TN)

I would guess that your feed store would be your better choice.   They carry all sort of feed for all different animals.   Pigeon feed is more of a specialty mix , and there are a few choices.    All depends on how you use it, and season when feeding it.  Example: with corn during winter for caloric body warmth.    Certain select type grains when racing homers.  And If you are only keeping them as pets,   the basic lowest priced mix will do fine.   Hardware store would only tend to keep wild bird seeds to feed  outside birds during winter mostly. (natural food is scarce at that time)   You can use it  to feed your pigeons, but it is NOT THE IDEAL FEED.   Pigeons are not in favor of eating formulated feed like we give our chickens.   I had in the past Alflock available for mine free choice, and they did not even nibble it at all.

WISHING YOU BEST :thumbsup

You can also make your own mix. The closest feedstore that sells a pigeon mix is over 2 hous away. I feed a homemade mix of white millet, milo, BOSS, corn, wheat, oats, layer pellets, green peas, and lentils. Ratios vary some depending on the time of year but my flock has done extremely well on it!

Layer hens(various purebred & mixed breeds), Courtinix Quail, Button Quail, Frillback Pigeons, White Racing Homing Pigeons

Future Purebred Breeding Goals(Dreams!): Silver Sebrights, Black Jersey Giants, Black Minorcas, Barred Rock Bantams, Exchequer Leghorns, Snowflake Bobwhite Quail, Red Golden Pheasants, Royal Palm Turkeys

My pigeons prefer to eat chicken feed.

They love the layer pellets and also broiler pellets.

They like the chick crumbs too....

They have free choice chicken feed and pigeon grain mix.... and they won't eat many seeds at all compared to the chicken feed... I always have re fill the chicken feeder.. but the pigeon seed mix goes down really slowly.

My pigeons are all very healthy, near glossy feathers and very active... so I guess I recommend providing chicken pellets as well and pigeon seed.

Racing pigeon pellets, layer feeds, layer pellets seven etc grain scratch, cheap layer cheap scratch n cheap wild bird seed with some cheap rabbit pellets, wild bird seed, or any mix with: Milo wheat peas safflower (whatever Lil black sunflower looking seeds) red millet popcorn (greatest to least) n others I'm forgetting in mix.. Budgie/"parakeet " feed works good if has pellets etc cereal fruity lookinpieces, but can cause excess feather/fecal dust. I've used manna pro poultry conditioner, with great success, but only Supposed to make up a fourth of feed at most, n I foolishly used straight and a lot more poo. Lol

I'm in easttn Knox area hey!
