1 day old, moving them from incubator to brooder and couldn't resist the opportunity to take there pics.

 

 

 

 

 

They are so cute! I'm so sorry you didn't hatch more. Do you have any idea what happened?

My Pet Chicken

Pretty sure it was a combination of a few things. Humidity being a little to high DURING incubation (although I monitored the air cells and thought that they were where they should be), lack of ventilation (dumb rookie mistake) and possibly the humidity being a little to low during lockdown (although the 6 babies that hatched all had clean unassisted hatches). All of these things are fixable and will be fixed next time I round up some eggs.

The voices in my head are fighting again.

 

My imaginary friend is running with scissors, and one of my personalities wandered off.

 

I don't like to think before I speak. I like to be just as surprised as everyone else about what comes out my mouth.

 

Sometimes even I am afraid of the things my mind comes up with.

Yay my passion for chickens is so strong I would never kill one. All my chickens have names please I want those eggs.

UPDATE:  They'll be 5 weeks old tomorrow.  3 of the 5 browns have started to get a lot of lavender highlights in them, all are healthy and doing great!!

I am a wife and Mother. We have 2 dogs, and our always growing flock of chickens. The kids have a small super cute flock of pet Silkies. Then we have mostly Cream Legbar amoung a wonderful assortment of laying hens.
