Does anyone know where i would be able to buy a few of these chickens, I have heard they are hard to find, but I would really like to purchase some.

You might find people in this thread to ship them.

The only hatchery I know of with them is Sandhill Preservation.
I bought several of them from there in '09. They were nice birds.

Sandhill also has a color variant of the them called a Flame Jaerhon. It has red in the hackles if I am remembering right. She comments that they are a bit more hardy than the regular colored ones.

When I got mine from them there were light, dark and flames in the shipment. I only kept the light and sold the others.

I think flame is a name he came up with that he calls a sport that turned up that he kept breeding.

We just purchased 6 (1 cockerel and 5 pullets) from "What Da flock Farms LLC" in Southern Wisconsin. They are nice breeders that seem to know what they are talking about. They keep all roos as pets rather than kill the unecessary - so if you are looking for a cockerel\rooster they can usually throw one in free of charge with an order.
