Hi Everyone, I am happy to have finally joined this forum! I have been raising chickens for several years. The majority of my birds have been for eggs with a few flocks of meat birds thrown in every now in then. Currently I have 10 hens made up of Americaunas, Rhode Island Reds, and White Leghorns, with a WL rooster on guard. I found this site years ago when looking for help on coop examples, breeds to choose, disease info, etc. Now that I am looking for better meat breeds and info on breeding and pasturing, I decided to join. I have a small hobby farm and raise cows and pigs. I have 4 new bee hives and am learning the hard way how to breed Midget White turkeys. Any knowledge and experience I have will be shared and I hope this will be reciprocated, because it seems like I still have lots to learn.

I believe there is a "bee keepers thread," on BYC you could put that in the search box and see what comes up. Also the "Turkey thread." Welcome to Backyard chickens.

Welcome to BYC!
You've been given some great links above. Are you wanting birds specifically for meat or looking for some good dual-purpose breeds that can be used for eggs and meat?
