Any help on gender?

Hi everyone, I've just rescued this little bird. I'm assuming it's a silkie, but could anyone help me on the gender? It still looks fairly young to me.

It definitely looks like a Silkie, do you know how old it is? Silkies are extremely hard to sex. A lot of times it isn't until they crow or lay an egg that you know for sure. I would suggest getting very clear close ups of any comb & wattle development & head shots. Then I would recommend you posting your question & new pictures on the Silkie forum. Someone on there might be able to help you out, good luck ☺

I'm thinking cockerel but a head shot would help.

Breeder of Dutch bantams, Wyandotte bantams, and a few exhibition rabbits.

Feel free to ask me questions about chicken and rabbit care, breeds, and showing! I'm always happy to help!

Silkie pullet--and she does not look well.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele

Good, hope she'll get better. Good for you for rescuing her. I would recommend deworming her, especially if she was living "in a swamp."

Silkie pullet and agree she looks ill - puffed up and head pulled in.     Glad you rescued her.
