Im at wits end again more I read more confused.....my life is consumed worrying about my flock

This thread might be three weeks old, but I think the OP has been treating one or more for maybe a year.

Hey Kathy

Sorry, my bad; as I have been following the thread, I confess to not rereading all the posts again and was going on memory.

With all respect and simply for my clarification, was that pointed out simply as an aid in the diagnosis process or to point out that I should have said "well into at least the third week of multiple treatments" or that the fact that this may have been going on for more than a year makes my suggestion irrelevant?

Seriously, I am just asking as I have been spending more time on BYC in at attempt to become a more active member, aid and assist if I can and to pass on some things I hope I have learned in my two years.

What I was trying to say was that it appears multiple treatments and changes have been made while an actual diagnosis does not appear to have been reached. I do truly believe it is time to take a deep breath, provide the worming, dusting and good feed and then take a step back to give the chickens chance to settle, assess each one individually and hopefully reach a diagnosis.

Sorry, meant to add: And/Or call in a Vet to determine exactly what the issue is.

this is my last word on this i am tiered of banging my head against the wall i had a look and i came across a doctor jacquie jacob
from the university of kentucky no less this learned lady writes

commercial feeds from a reliable feed store have all the nutrients and in the right proportions that chickens need a balanced diet is necessary
for optimal growth and production she goes on to say what feeds protein whatever you get the picture and then she says
laying hens should be switched to a layers feed she goes on to tell you why it the same as many on here have told you

she also listed some common mistakes made these are providing vitamins and electrolyte supplements for more than 10 days
supplementing complete feeds with cracked corn oats or other grains
regularly adding green chops lettuce other low nutrition ingredients
administering not needed or inappropriate medication

I'm out of here too... seems the OP is either having fun with us all or just not willing to listen to ANY advice... advice that she asked for in the first place!

Bye.
