Is this normal chicken behavior?

I will try and get a picture but when I take my chicks outside, they do this thing where they kind of lean over to one side and lie down. Sometimes they spread their wing and stretch out one leg while doing it as well. Is this something they do? I think they seem like they're just enjoying being outside but I don't know since i'm a newbie! TIA!
 
Hi @chickenpoop77 your chicks are just sun bathing. Mine do that all the time. You will see your grown up chickens do that too. Welcome to BYC!

I agree it can be disconcerting when you first see it, especially with your young birds. Sometimes they kick and flop around and look like they're having a seizure

, but they're just enjoying the sun and keeping themselves clean.
