Lightning strike, and it was gone on seconds, Yes looked almost like yours only we were poor sand farmers and only had one cupola.
Hello! Lots to catch up on - and DH drank all the coffee while I did
UPdate on the little henny with shell probs!!!
~ She's fine. Let her out the morning after doctoring; put her alone in a pen; and then let her out with her friends 20 minutes later. She promptly gave me 2 wonderful eggs this week.
Others have been leaving little egg ghosts as I call them on the floor of the coops over night (shell less transparent eggs) So I have left them locked in to get back on their correct food diet. We had a stretch of 50 and 60 degrees for a while there and I think they spent ALL DAYS outside and didn't get what they needed nutritionally. I hope. If not - then you who said it might be a genetic thing might be right then I'll have the play the "who are you" game and cull bummer
Spent the day removing steps into the garage and replacing them with a ramp . This had been planned ahead of DW falling . So I come in and go back out and forget no steps or ramp . So took a fall . No real damage . Grandson was helping and he nearly did the same . Ramp is done . So no more danger .

Yikes. That almost makes it worse than say something electrical etc; as it was TOTALLY out of your control. Yeah, who cares if the house burns down.... the barn tho....
One year we raised 300 Meaties but haven't since. Only butcher turkeys and extra cockerels now.
Why in the great name of catfish did that link get pasted to this post?
Beautiful! I love your photographs.
Good Morning all.
JJ is still with us, I think, based on my extremely limited medial knowledge, he had a stroke. He is acting like a stoke person would. He is trying to stand, his back end gets up but he cannot seem to get his head to work. It stays on the ground.
I will give him a day or so, maybe more maybe less, and if Judy and I decide he is getting no better, I will send him to a gas chamber as an act of mercy. Putting him to sleep with a can of ether. No smoking allowed near the chamber, it is going to have to be a big one.
I can't take his head or eat him. I will cremate him like I do the dead birds. I might let him lie in state in the crematory for a while to make sure the ether is off him before I light it. It will be rough but I think I have to do it.
I have a ton of babies, No idea how many , I am guessing 70-80 in the day-two day old. I have one with a wry neck, I might just let JJ help him through the chamber experience.
