Surviving Minnesota!

So look at this egg i cracked open tonight.... when i cracked it my first thought was 'wow that egg yolk looks like a yellow ping pong ball' then i realized it looked pretty solid so i poked it and it was! I cut it open with my spatula (the meaty bit was from the spatula) and it looks like it was hard boiled! the egg white was normal. Any ideas how this happens??
Interesting...

Holm, on the other hand appears to be an early riser.
Holm I know nothing about fodder or raising sprouts. That is a lot of work and an inefficient use of my time, as I simply go to the grocery store and pick up outdated or flawed produce to use instead. My experience is that chickens are not very fond of alfalfa sprouts. They love lettuce, tofu, grapes and definitely watermelon.

I wish I had a place that would give me old produce.

I am going to try oat sprouts. simply because my birds are spoiled and pick out the oats.

Have you guys heard the news? I am going to trick Holm's into showing my birds!! ( I am working out the details right now) DO not tell him!
