Surviving Minnesota!

I, being old and wise, wore thick leather welding gloves before attempting to capture the owl.

However, my superior bird netting skills allowed me to release the mean flying razor blade without actually touching it. I was worried it would slice through the net before I got it out the door.

However, once again I underestimated my skills.
Once again old ancient one you share your wisdom! It is too late for me to learn other than the school of hard knocks.

Good Afternoon All - My husband's family was able to successfully hold Field Days yesterday. Some of the attractions were oats thrashing, stationary baler, oxen rides, hit and miss engines doing an assortment of different things, plowing, disking with 2 cylinders.....and the most coveted machine was ran by yours truly.....the ole Maytag gas wash machine. Yup I offered demonstrations on how to wash clothing with a gas powered Maytag wringer washer. The clothing for the demonstration were none other than my husbands farm clothes from getting all those old tractors greased, and varnished gas drained.

I wish we could have been there.

My brother used to travel around to watch threshing shows. Loved the ones he got to run a machine. Reminds him of his youth baling hay....Hasn't gone since he turned 70.
