Surviving Minnesota!

No video as my phone has no space.

I have not went to Eel pout for 20 years. It is not for me. It is for tourists and twenty year olds. It's a shot in the arm for local economy - that is all I will say for it and it serves that purpose well. But trash bags of feces for people to clean up and drink straws on usually pristine beaches in spring are not major attractors for me.

There is no vehicles allowed on the ice over the weekend. Just 4 wheelers and snowmobiles. I'm not sure how they'll deal with the rush to get ice houses off.

DH went down to get taxes done in the city. While driving on 169 near Princeton his rear tire blew. Totally gone-shredded. He said it sounded like a shot gun and happened while he was passing some one. I guess the driver of that car jerked his head hear the loud noise. Lol. So he sat on the side of the road wondering what to do and thought of a bank acquaintance who does a lot of business up north. A few moments later this guy showed up with tow truck, loaned DH his own truck to get to tax appt and fixed his vehicle. Pays to network I guess! I would have been setting there a while longer I'm afraid. Lol.
I blew got a flat driving home from work last year. I changed it as my DH had range duty and could not leave to come do it. worse part was it was raining, turned to snow, and I had to kneel in the gutter with a river running down hill, terrible!

Ok I stopped with the fruits and vegs, I also stopped giving tap water and I'm using my water filter system, I was also thinking it might be my water softener water. I turned the electric heater down and away from the pen. Fingers xx'ed the rest will be fine. On another note my strawberry laid that double yoker couple days ago THEN didn't lay for 2 days ,, I don't blam her,, Today she laid another whopper ,, hope she doesn't hurt herself making this a habit.. Her is her egg again today..
Good Idea, I agree that they need somewhere cool to get too if they are too warm as well.
But, Ouch! I agree that is a whopper, I hope she doesn't keep that up!

Was going to ask what the heck an eel pout is.....do I want to know?
An Eel Pout is a fresh water cod fish. It will wrap its tail around your arm when you hold it though, kinda freeky when I caught one when I was 10.

Yes - there actually are diapers for chickens. Thats why I asked about the turkeys that were sleeping in bed with their owners in New Mexico. LOL.

On a serious note I moved Andy and his buds outside today. I am a little worried about them.

I feel worried about that wee babe of a calf outside too. Is she warm enough, is she nursing enough, is the wind getting in there, is momma gonna accidently step on her since she is so small? All kinds of thoughts running through. I would love to throw a diaper on her and let her in bed with me. But I have to hope that Momma keeps on doing her job. That is best. I figure the worst part is over, the missed delivery. We caught it soon after and got her dry. Mom should have it from here.

Rhetts, congrats on the baby, too cute! Boy, this one came alot faster than the last two! :) guess you have to be prepared at all times! I'm glad that little baby wasn't hurt and that mom let you know there was a problem.
