Surviving Minnesota!

I once had Muscovy and Silver Appleyards cross . Hatched from the Muscovies . Those things could really fly . Good meat birds but mules . They flew so well I actually had to shoot them on the take off . They free ranged the creek and accepted hand outs of feed from me .

We always had domestic mallards growing up and then I had Khaki's on/off. I didn't mind them. They were pretty easy to take care of, but mine begged for everything and anything.

@jerryse , how'd that cross look? Did they have caruncles?

They were mostly a brown like a mallard hen and the drakes had darker heads but not green or back . Just darker brown .

That's pretty cool! Just let me know what you get for hens and we'll go from there. If they're hard to sex, I'll just cross my fingers and get what I get :D Their hatch time should fall close to the weekend of the 23rd, which would be perfect for me. I can even grab a few for Ralphie and drop them off.

I am pretty sure I can sex them. I sexed mine but they were 1-2 weeks old when I got them from Triplell.

Oh it looks like he is doing better! :yesss:  Can he see with the eye?

Yes I think so

OH NO!!

I did waterfowl once! Never again!       I still cuss that cute little 4h demon spawn girl with the puppy dog eyes that talked me into getting some from her!

Hey! I'm in 4-h, I've never had ducks, I show my chickens. I think call ducks would be cool to have, why do you hate them so much?
