Just thinking. Perhaps another spot would be better. Obviously it'd be easier to not get the neighbor's okay too
This is why it'd be easier to live in the country I suppose!
Another consideration for locating your coop would be utilizing shade. Summer sun can heat up a coop like a cooker. So a nice shade tree to place it under would be primo.
Ralphie I can be contradictory. Quite unconsciously. Ask DH. Sorry about that.
DH blew out his knee Friday. Lots of pain. I'm sure it requires surgery. Dr visits coming up this week. We have crappy health insurance too. $3,000 deductible for individual and $6,000 for family. 3 grand... Jerryse can you graft me a money tree onto a popple I have in the backyard.
I hate spending $$$ on that stupid deductible. When I was raising kids that DH worked at Toro. Great health insurance! I was fortunate enough to appreciate the coverage. Dental included too. My DH NOW is self-employed and our deductible is $6,000. Ugh! Last year we met that deductible because of my eyes - they just happen when you are growing older - and growing older is a goooooood thing most of the time. So you have my sympathies on the health insurance deductibles.
I agree about the shade. They need it during those hot summer days. Having a portion of the run on cement would not be too bad. But if its a big yard why not choose somewhere that they can scratch and have shade. During the winter the coop and run will most likely be covered from the wind so Spring, Summer and Fall it might be good to have a breeze blowing (not a wind) through to cool it down also. What do you think about this chickeners?
