I've never owned quail before, but my husband and I wanted to try to raise some for egg and meat purposes. I just have a couple questions. I got 3 females and a male Jumbo Bobwhite quail today. The research I've done says to feed them high protein food but NOT medicated. The person I got them off of told me to feed them medicated food or put antibiotics in their water, could someone clarify this for me? I got Manna Pro gamebird and showbird feed today for them.
Also, like I said I plan on raising some for meat and eggs, I plan on giving the birds about 14 hours a day so hopefully they lay some after they chill out and are less stressed about the new place. What would be the best way to go about hatching some eggs? Any info welcomed!! Please and Thank you!
