HELP!!! My hens got attacked!!!!

How strange is that! They probably hide their pain well so that predators will not get them. Yet, to us, their injury is life threatening. I have never had this happen before, since this is my first time having chickens, and I inherited them from the previous tenant. I lost two this summer, and just could not bear the thought of loosing another.

Update - cleaned her wound with betadine and applied Neosporin after. It's looking good! Thanks for all the help!!!

Looking good!

In the first picture, just to the left of your thumb, is that a puncture wound up above the main wound? Those can be trickier because of infection...

The main one towards the bottom is looking good! Did you end up finding that Vetricyn? I bet that would also help with quick healing.

You're doing great though, she looks pretty alert and happy in that last picture.

Thanks! She is healing up really nicely. Yes that was a puncture on the side of the main cut. I couldn't glue that so we just cleaned it really good and put a lot of neosporin for 3 days. She is doing really well, I even let her go back with the flock for a while today.

Just wanted to come back and give an update. The hen has been back in the flock for a couple of weeks now and is doing great!! She has new feathers growing back already!! Thanks for all the info and kind words!!
