Hi there. What colour May my day old araucana chick be fully grown? Was told it was a lavender roo running with the flock but thinking it might be a black.
Many thanks

Lavender is a recessive gene. When bred with non-lavender birds, they produce solid black chicks.

Black.

The chick should carry the recessive lavender gene, so folks here would say it's black split to lavender. Meaning if you bred it to a lavender bird or another black bird split to lavender you'd have a chance to get lavender birds.
