Newly hatched chick can't stand, jerks, head twists around

I have a day old chick that it's head turns all the way around and it flops over on it's side. The chick can't stand and when I hold it to try to feed it, the chick's head jerks and spins backwards. I have read about wry neck but it looks pretty severe. When it first hatched it was able to sit with it's head backwards but now it just lays on it's side with the head twisted around. Please help!!!any ideas of what this is? Neurological? Curable? Any ideas are welcome!

Welcome to BYC. It may be neurological from brain inflammation or it could be from vitamin deficiency. Get it on some Poultry Nutri-drench 1-3 ml daily, or add some vitamins and electrolytes to the water, and making sure it is drinking water or give it with a dropper. Let us know how your chick gets along, and good luck.

I am doing the vitamin e and electrolytes/vitamins in water. I am making sure it gets a few drops every 2 hours. Any ideas how long it will take to get better or will it get better?
