Unheard of Leg Problem in Chick

Sorry to hear this. But it makes no sense to keep a defective member in the flock. You tried, I guess it's just not meant to be. Nature probably would have taken it out anyway.
 
So Sorry 2boys. You did what you could. It sounds like his joint was so poorly formed that there was no way to fix it.

I pulled him up this afternoon to take him out and his joint was badly swollen and totally not functioning. He was pretty small compared to the rest as well.

Good news is we just hatched 5 more chicks yesterday, so we have a decent flock to begin with.
