I have 7 Easter Egger chickens that I need to sex. I am only allowed to have 6 in the city and no roosters. So I need to downsize to only my hens. I hatched these out from eggs I bought online. I've been reading so much about sexing EE's but I can't figure it out at all. Some of the ones that look like hens act like roosters and some of the ones who have no combs are starting to get brown red feathers. This is my first time raising chickens so I have no idea what is what.

If I need better pictures, I can try to get them. They're a little feisty with this cold weather.

12-13 weeks old. Pictures 3 and 4 are the same bird, but picture 1 is a different bird.

Oh and yes, It seems I accidentally uploaded the same bird twice. Sorry for the double post, comment is up for moderation and I couldn't figure out how to edit it.

The two birds on the left are male, the three on the right are female.

Female, male, male

Two males on the left, three females on the right.

all the birds in pictures by themselves are male.

Agreed

Great!

Oh, and this was meant to be picture 4 but I guess I uploaded incorrectly.

I can get a better angle if needed.

Ok on ee how do you tell whats female and whats male? I have two and i havent a clue. They are only three months old.
At 3 months your combs are going to give you a good clue. The males will be getting red, the females flesh colored still. Three rows of peas is pretty much male, a single row is female. You can also look at the coloring. the birds above are great examples of the difference between male and female.

Feel free to post pics of your birds, just start a new thread so we don't get confused about which birds we're talking about.
