I'm new to raising chicks. I was told that light ones are rooster and darker ones are hens. Any thoughts on this. In the picture the darker one the hen is in the back, if this is true.

Yes, looks to me like lighter front one is a cockerel and the back one is a pullet/hen

17+ pigeons, about 20 coturnix quail, 10 chickens and 2 angora rabbits
