Need advice on hatching please

Hmm, don't have containers on hand right now. However it gave me an idea for a solution. Brooder space is a bit limited right now, so a broiler pan won't fit, but I could place the waters I have in a cut down container that is large enough. Maybe a gallon jug will work, with tape covering the cut edge, I have some of those around.

Ducky has a ramp to join the others up top now, was made from the lid of the shipping box for the ducklings. Let him have some time out of the splints today, all of the water being splashed around had them falling apart. His feet are looking a lot better, decided that he only needed tape back on the left foot. Also left off the spraddle leg support, will see how it looks in the morning.

Hopefully the injured turkey will heal up quickly, so I can move the ducklings into the small trough soon. He finally started eating again yesterday.

Sorry about the rambling, tired, waiting for a cheesecake to come out of the oven.

Merry Christmas.
Yes gallon jugs work too I looked for a pic but couldn't find it.. great news Ducky is coming along so well and now has a ramp. Hope you find Ducky doing real well this morning

Sorry about the turkey what happened to it and hope it heals quickly..

Hard work caring for animals but in the long run very gratifying too. Hope you have a very Blessed Christmas and enjoy that cheese cake.

Ducklings

I had let the turkeys out to free range and they decided to gang up on the previously dominant one. So a lot of trauma to the head and neck skin. Scabbed enough that he could not bend the neck after it deied. So going to seperate them once I get another coop built.

Poor thing glad you were able to help him..

How sweet a pic They look great!

Well the ducklings are doing good, growing like weeds. Tried to post a recent pic but it is not cooperating. Weighed them last Wed and the largest was already over 8 oz. Ducky still has crooked toes, but with all the water being splashed from the drinkers I can't keep tape on them. It looks like the toes are very slowly getting straight on their own and he is getting around decently.

Great news I hope they continue to straighten out and would love to see pics when you can get BYC to cooperate Sounds like everyone is thriving.

Still a bit crooked, the middle and outer toe on both feet. Working on getting a larger brooder set up. Going to separate him and the mallards into half. Will try taping again. He is adapting well and getting around decently.

I bet they are growing so fast it's a job keeping up with the brooder. I am glad to hear the toes aren't causing too much problems hopefully if you can tape again that will help.

Thanks for update.
