Yes, I see. This one look a lot like the last picture. I have chickens that I bred from mostly unknown, wild stock; not hatchery birds. I get all sort of different looking offspring and Ive always credited "hidden" genetics. I can see where that can happen with quail too, the hidden genetics. So white,m although recessive, can hide Tibetan and perhaps other color types?
Im going to look more carefully at my quail. I have noticed a difference in how what I thought were all Wild Pharaoh type looked but never thought it might be due to a different type of quail. Perhaps I have Tibetan in my mix and a Tibetan male mated with my white. Could that cause the dilute Tibetan? Im so interested in this genetic mixing thing for both chickens and quail. I have frizzled Faveroles running around my yard and I love the look. Of course they are not pure Faverole as the frizzle gene came from most likely a Cochin.
