I have a teenager RIR/Golden Lace roo named Adonis and many black ? bantam hen and a silver sebright hen and a comet. I am wondering what will happen if he tries to cover the bantams? Will the bantams produce viable eggs and if so any idea on sizes? Or will he wind up hurting them? Am not looking into chicks now but down the road and want to protect my flock as much as possible. The roo was a gift and He is so sweet I kept him.

You'd be surprised. I've seen it happen more times than I'd like. What could happen is he could potentially harm them (because of the size differences). Or maybe nothing, they might accept his attentions, deal with being squished for the couple of seconds he takes to mate them and move on with their day. It just depends on the individuals involved. I wouldn't keep a standard sized roo with bantam hens, the other way around, sure. It could be a recipe for disaster, but that's something you'll have to keep an eye on and play by ear.

Good luck!
