HELP I NEED YOU TO SEND ME ALL YOUR QUAIL ENCLOSURES PLEASE

1 sq ft per bird for coturnix. 2-4 sq ft each for new world quail. You can really only get away with one rooster in a cage that size without fighting or increased stress (stress=no eggs)

The maximum I could fit in there would probably be about 4 quails. I did keep only 1 male in there because of course they would fight. But I use to keep Buttons in there, 3 females and 2 males. The males got along and I got an egg a day out of the females, I assumed it was because the males had their own space and lots of little hiding places. But I don't think I could do the same for coturnix.

When I had fewer quail they stayed in the area covered by the white sheet. Now they have the entire aviary to hang out in. The drawback is there is no coop to escape the cold. I have put hay and excelsior for them to burrow in as well as made some small cardboard "houses" and set them around the floor of the aviary if they wish to use them
This is an older pic. The entire aviary is now enclosed with wire-cloth....floor and all sides with the wall of a chicken coop at the end on the right. Tarp are hung to provide protection from the wind.
