I think my chicken may actually be a T-Rex?

I had also thought that maybe she was being aggressively playful, but I held her today and she got me right in the hand! I think she's just nasty :)

Have had a couple of incorrigible biters, they were delicious.

Ha ha! Aart, that's great! Mine get "bitten back" if you know what I mean. They are not usually repeat offenders - at least for several months.

I've found that chickens, like most animals, are trained to our routines. If the flock is used to you bringing treats to keep them busy while you collect eggs and clean the food/water dishes out, then they expect the treats each time and are not inclined to try to escape as I enter and leave the coop. I forgot the treats one day, and I got the bum's rush the whole time I was in the coop with the chickens around my feet to the extent that I could not even walk. A few brave leghorns even pecked at my shoes looking for their expected treats. I finally got out of the coop and got the treats. I was apparent that I was not going to easily get anything done until I fed them the goodies to get them out of my hair. It makes the event easier for me, and more enjoyable for them.

Well, I actually have never had one that bites for long... other than when I'd hand feed and they just had no finesse for picking the food out of the hand without catching some flesh too...but both were also nasty to the other birds.
