By Tacoma WA city code is my chicken poultry or pet?

I am vegan, eating no animal products. The Tacoma city code has regulations for where a coop can be but defines poultry as specific breeds kept for --> meat or eggs.
My chicken is kept for neither.
She's not poultry then right?

5.30.005 Definitions.
A. Poultry is defined as domestic fowl raised for meat or eggs, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, or geese..

I believe it reads that you can keep 6 regardless of what you are keeping them for! And yes, she is poultry whether you eat her eggs or not.

I have one. The law is specific in it's definition. On what is it based that what the law says doesn't matter? I'm not arguing with you, just asking. It seems very clear to me.

A. Poultry is defined as domestic fowl raised for meat or eggs, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, or geese.

The law does not specify any 'breeds'. Therefore, all chickens are classed the same, regardless of purpose or an owner's intentions. The law says poultry = chickens, turkeys, ducks, or geese.
That means that all chickens are poultry, regardless of whether you use them as such or not. It does not make an exclusion for 'pet' chickens. The fact is, your Silkie will lay eggs regularly, whether you eat them or not. She is a chicken, she will never be a parakeet.
