Poorly Cayuga

Thread Starter
Hi

I have a female Cayuga who seems to be avoiding going on the pond and when she is in it her tail is down. She is also fully emerging her beak in the water when eating meal worms off be surface and blowing bubbles underwater out of her nostrils. She just seems generally under the weather.

We have had huge amounts of rain recently and I wonder if she has a cold?!

Any ideas appreciated.

Many thanks.

It's hard to tell by what you're saying.  Is she eating?  What makes you think she's under the weather?  Could you try her on some nutridrench / sav-a-chick and see if she improves?  Is the duck showing discharge from the nostrils? Does she have any difficulty breathing / wheezing?

Has she been laying? She could possibly be egg bound.
