I had poached a couple of eggs and began eating my breakfast. At one point, before eating the piece I had on my fork I noticed a "brown spot". Could not imagine what it was because it did not mirror anything I would expect to see in the white of a poached egg. Curiosity made me look to see if the "spot" continued on the piece of egg still on my plate where I had cut it from, and I saw that it did. So I proceeded to break open the rest of that egg white.
What I found looked like a good sized worm !! Attached are photos (headless from the piece I cut off and almost ate!)
Can someone confirm if this is in fact a worm, parasite or whatever. And how it made its way into the egg ??
