I am brand new to chickens. I just got in an order of 25 Cornish crosses for a broiler show we are doing in my agriculture class. They're eating and drinking well, however they are starting to lose their fluff on their wings and chests? They also look kinda wet? They are only about a week old, could they already be getting their big feathers in? They all have feathers growing on their wings, but no where else that I can tell. The parts where they are losing fluff is pink, is this because its irritated or is that just skin color? Sorry about all the questions, but I'm really worried about my babies! Like I said, this is my first batch so I have no idea what normal looks like. Thank you so much!!

Welcome! Make sure you have a big enough brooder, dry bedding, and no leaking waterers. These chicks tend to sit around in front of the feeders, and poop a lot, and be messy. Their chests can get irritated if they are in damp/ dirty bedding. Mary

Okay, I just put in new bedding on top of the old stuff, its kinda late so I will completely re-clean everything out tomorrow. And I'm keeping them in a small swimming pool right now, with the sides built up with cardboard. All of the people in charge of telling us how to care for them say that's plenty big enough, but I really don't think they are really thinking about the well-being of the chicken. Will their fluff grow back? They don't seem sick or anything, but from what you are hearing they aren't going to die or anything right? I'm just so worried!

Keep in mind that they have been selected for extreme weight gain, that's it.
Until they mature Cornish cross tend to not have the best feathering.

Okay, I just figured out the problem. I picked up their water bucket and it is completely empty! I refilled it just 3 hours ago and it must have leaked completely out into the wood shavings. I just pulled out all of the shavings and cleaned it all out completely. Lets see how they look tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help! I must seem really stupid, but I was just worried they had all gotten sick!
