We lost her. Wife got home & she had already died. Sad, & now I'm hoping other are not sick. Should I give the whole flock the pedialite mix you recommend?
@Sally Sunshine I am feeding them Purina medicated lay crumbs.
None of the other chicks are showing signs of illness. I don't know what normal poop looks like. First time chicken owner. I've seen some soft (clay brown) colored poop, but not sure who or how many are doing this. What does that mean?
When I get home tonight, I'm going to try the homemade gatorade concoction you recommended.
It's a 3x3 space cage with a heat lamp (70 degrees) in the corner. I checked several times last night, and they all seem to be getting along well. I've been keeping them in my laundry room in the back of the house. I'm trying to get them more accustom to my family handling them. It's a process, and I'm trying to be patient with it. I picked up a few last night, and they chirped out of fear; I guess. Also how big is your brooder. The more crowded they are the more they will peck at smaller or weaker ones because they have no way to get away from them so it can get relentless.
